Qualification progress can create clearer multi-quarter demand.
What changed
Optical interconnect demand is broadening across AI training clusters and scale-out networks. Customers are qualifying higher-speed modules while switching platforms move toward greater port density.
The bottleneck is shifting. Some component constraints may ease, but advanced packaging, DSPs, photonic integrated circuits, lasers and customer qualification can still limit module-level shipments.
The most useful signal is not a single product announcement. It is the conversion from sampling to qualification, then from qualification to repeat volume and cash generation.
Why it matters
AI training, cloud networking and enterprise upgrades add volume.
Packaging, DSP, PIC and laser supply remain key variables.
